The creator of the Simpsons Matt Groening was ask to make a animation based of his "life is hell" comic strips however he would have had to give up the rights to the comics in doing this so he instead used a new idea ,a animation based on a family called the Simpsons. the Simpsons first aired on the Tracy Ullman show and from then on became the longest running animated TV show.

this animated tv series created by waner bros and originally airing on fox kids was a adaptation of the comic book character batman from dc/detective comics and was often described as ither the best or second best animated tv series (second to the Simpsons)as it has received may awards such as its 4 Emmy's and its prime time Emmy award for outstanding animated program.
Barry Purves
Barry Purves is a director and animator that specializes in stop-motion puppeteering, known for works such as screenplay (1992), which was a stopmotion film about a old man recounting his past, styled after Japaneses traditional performances, but was done in a very different way to most stop-motions, where it was all shot in one "scene" and did not transition to a new area, only changing the already existing set such as a real stage play.
Jurassic park
originally the dinosaurs in the film Jurassic park were all going to be large puppeteered synthetic dinosaurs but during production Steven Spielberg, the director of the film decided to use 3d-computer animated dinosaurs after he was shown what it was capable of by ---- who had a test animation of a running dinosaur in live action footage, from then on it was a mixture of CGI and "puppets"
Ren and Stimpy
a cartoon about Ren the dog and Stimpy the cat and their "adventures" if thats what you would call them. the show had a more adult sense of humor and kept pushing the boundaries of what was allowed to be shown to children, eventual this lead the show to be taken of the air until it re-branded itself as a adult cartoon.
