Part 10 Visual Diary for Exhibit Project
Original workings, based of a overall film generalization within the individual genre
Explanation
This was my original workings that were less specific to the individual films that i soon to based my information of, and more based of the entirety of the genre. even though information was based of this and it was found to be not the best when i changed the question i was answering, it was helpful in finding the more specific films. also some things were left unfinished
•Comedy. two most common characters are
unlucky or the “wise guy” both are opposite ends of the spectrum I'm researching into, reliability or desirability, however sometimes unluckiness is unrelatable.
•Action. often nearly impossible to stop hero's
that almost always succeed in there motives, character’s often are forgettable
besides those that seem to start a trend in these types of films.
•Adventure. tends to tie in with the
action genre, exploits the audiences want for travel, as a desirable trait the
characters have
•Horror. most characters experience fear, being a
very relatable emotion when watching the film (for some), however not often
creating a character that is notably popular other than the villain, therefore
I will be using the villain’s in this genre.
•Drama. more “in depth” characters with more
expressive personality's, less common to follow any archetypes, often
experience negative scenarios such as mental illness, violence and organised
crime, and that is what the storyline revolves around
•Thriller (never ended up doing this genre due to it not being relevant enough to be called a key genre, and is often a sub-genre)
Mediums
•Animation, the most common medium to have humanized animals as popular characters,
characters tend to be exaggerated in emotions and archetypes, tends to be most
popular in family friendly movies
•Live action, based on the most popular
films the characters tend to , most popular films tend to be action or drama
•Video game, most common theme is that of
being adventures or fearless, possible correlation to the players life being un
adventure's creating the desire factor, also characters tend to be “super
powered” in one way or another. (this was when i was going to make video game characters but was unable to due to time constraints)
