Comedy Film Genre 
  • Comedy characters often work in pairs and have conflicting personality's
  • One tends to be sly, charismatic, dumb, unnaturally successful or a combination of these 
  • And the other tends to fail, be over (and in some cases under) emotional, can often be smart but sometimes dumb (not more than their counter part) or a combination of these factors
  • Most common/popular profession in popular comedy films is law enforcement
  • Most comedy film characters have regular professions but are irregular people, so other than how they act they look like regular people, such as I portrayed in these characters

run cycle outlines test 1 with the run cycle i was attempting to get some independent movement from the shirt the fool wears as well as the tassels (which i haven't added yet). this is one of the references  i used to see how to implement independent   movement  into my run cycle as seen in the qipao (type of Chinese  dress)  chun li wears. finished idle  idle done in full colour, also added mask details and fixed some problems with the outlines. the tassels now stand out properly and overall i believe the animation is fluid/active. overshoot  test 1 first test of the overshoot technique on a three hit quick combo, i have found that using the technique also involves it being a "held frame" technique aswell, theses techniques work together, giving a visually better impact. one of the animations i used as reference shows a perfect example of what im attempting to do, not to make the limb look stretched ...

Dark Star part 21

Character Expression sheets: outlines Gideon: with this redesign of gideon i wanted to maintain a teenage appearance, or even make it more apparent but still have his personality somewhat apparent, purely from his visual appearance.        Darcy: with this redesign of Darcy i wanted to try and express his "childishness" he visually looks younger than the other 2 protagonist but is in fact the same age.   Ash: Ash's redesign was both to suit the new designs of the other characters and was another attempt of drawing a better female character, something i'm becoming more adept at after a long time of not drawing many girls, or even making animated characters with faces period, rather than a mask/helmet/robot face etc.

Random notes on Dark Star's development part of creating this series concept was that i wrote a large amount of random concepts and ideas that came to mind into a powerpoint document. in order of when these were written, for context this will be the first of several posts, most notes in brackets are for future explanations of what's going on that i didn't need to explain to myself.  Random development notes part 1:  new introduction/ pilot episode concept All three characters don’t know each other, and were investigating the same thing rumours of the dark star, for their own reasons. meeting for the first time in a three way battle before recognising each other from school before it closed down, recognising that they aren't the guards of the facility their investigating, together they find out about the hunter, killing the line of creations from the previous dark star wieldier.
