the wall
year of film: 1982
directors, Alan Parker: Gerald Scarfe
animation director: Gerald Scarfe
who wrote the screen play: Roger Waters
the wall is a film about the downfall of a man into insanity, caused by events in his life that twisted him into a hateful person, events such as his father dieing at war, his mothers neglect, the education system, his teachers mockery, his girlfriends cheating and drug abuse making him repress society and attempt creating his own idea of a utopia (symbolizing Nazi/Neo-Nazis)
the key concept i believe the film was attempting to represent was how society's influences can mold someone into depression and hatred for society, "another brick in the wall" is often repeated in the film which can represent another action/thing that causes the main character to hate society more.
the film uses disturbing imagery to convey the emotions that the main character is having, to the point where the audience empathizes and/or is disgusted by him, but can also understand why he became like he is.
