a film about both revenge and Justice, taken in a over the top violent way (originally intended to be like a new-age Jesus Christ) in a future where crime runs rampant in new Detroit (somewhat sci-fi)

does the film hold up over time?

this can be said to be very subjective, since the answer is different to everybody, but overall id say it somewhat does, the humor is clearly older but still enjoyable, and the over the top action is still being talked about today, the fact that it became a cult classic goes to show that it can hold up over time.

my opinion on the film

as i said the film still has its moments with its humor, and the general concept was, and still is new/ not over used and interesting, not to mention the gore is pretty much what you see today in action films and sometimes worst/ better depending if you enjoy it (and i do), so i would say its a 7/10 for me.
