Dark Star part 27

Story development ideas

following are some development writings i've been keeping in a powerpoint file or witten on paper, the result is that i did not care much for grammar and spelling but i will try to make it readable, any text in red is me explaining stuff in the present tense

After the inciting event [where the characters are forced to leave home] the three protagonists head in the last known direction of the book, traveling through the unclaimed land between Duneford, Porfill and Helmscroft.
during the team comes across Duneford escapese either dead or injured, the bolo borrowers how took the book attempted to use it on the dunefordians to… some evail.
turns out not just anyone can use the book, those who can't become the very thing they tried to spawn, in this case the borrower had quite the imagination, whatever he became[a monster] it ran of towards bolo. [bellow was me spitballing a pathway the story could go]
1: but the book was taken by one of the bolo survivors to duneford black-markets, turning people into monsters must have some value
Choosing bolo as there direction the team prepares for a fight, they enter bolo with no resistance, no one comes into bolo who isn’t a resident, they follow a trail of carnage towards the monster, or perhaps that’s the norm for these city streets, on there way they come across
1: bartholomew wiles Gregory the fourth of Faraguard [purposely long name]  manipulates them with his wealth (meaning they can just buy the book at the black market) into helping him kill the very thing they to are after, even in asking for help he is overconfident and acting as if there help isn’t needed

(turns out Wiles was the one who the borrowers were delivering the book to)

next i thought into the resons the characters would chose to go to bolo instead of Duneford

Darcy: to save the people
Gideon: to save the possible innocent people
Ash/Gideon/Darcy: to find who was wanting the book and find out how to use it from them
The people of bolo have been know to be near-entirely criminals but Darcy thinks there is still good in them.
the possibility that there is someone in danger who is part of the small percentage of people who aren't guilty forces Gideon to go.
The book might get sold on the black-market to the highest bidder but the knowledge of how to use it may be lost forever.

another thing i wrote was about unique places in the Grimvaul empire the characters could come across

Ever-amber woods (the unclaimed land) perpetually in autumn
Defiance (center of dunefords mountains) magic wielders hidden civilization
Zearake (island off the coast of duneford/orem) prison said to hold the whisper, last magic master who had been imprisoned before the extinction of magic, resultingly he was kept alive due to his life sentence.
The salts (sulfshaw wastelands) Huge salt crystals growing throughout the desert sand
the golden halls (illile) halls made from the once precious resource of gold
The wilder (porfills sub-region) a island filled with a wide range of wild life
Duneford catacombs (underground between the oppressed 3 and oppressor) unused for years after tradition fell away, some believe it still connects with the castle in the center of dunefords capital
